ChatLab Updates: April 2025
ChatLab added many useful, user-friendly features last month! What were they? Let's dive in!
🚀 Longer Prompt Length
First, we increased our prompt length to 6,000 characters! This allows you to be more precise when defining chatbot behavior.
🌍 New Language: Hungarian
We've also added a new language to our website: Hungarian, our eighth language. Welcome to our Hungarian users! Üdvözöljük!
🎓 Tutorial Videos for New Users
For our new users, we've prepared tutorial videos that provide a better understanding of how our product works. These videos are valuable for all ChatLab users—from developers building chatbots to anyone interested in learning about chatbot development and AI.
⏸️ Pause & Unpause Feature
Another useful feature that gives you more control over your chatbot is the ability to pause and unpause it. This lets you temporarily disable the chatbot without deleting it—handy for maintenance or updates.
🧠 Configurable Context Size
Configurable context size is another crucial addition in this update. Why is it so important? Because with increased context, the chatbot is capable of answering more complex questions.
🧬 New Language Model: Gemini 2.0 Flash
Last month, we added Gemini 2.0 Flash to our model base. It's our eighth model! Each model on our website is tailored to different needs and budgets.
🛠️ Admin Assistant
The next user-friendly update is the admin assistant, which provides the ability to answer ChatLab-related questions directly from the admin interface. It’s incredibly useful for getting quick responses without switching tools, improving support and efficiency.
🧑💻 Frontend API
We launched the frontend API! Your frontend application can now share:
- Information about the logged-in user (e.g., on your e-commerce store)
- What the user is currently viewing
With this knowledge, the chatbot can answer contextual questions and execute actions on behalf of that user.
💬 Improved Chatlog View & Lead Syncing
ChatLab's recent update significantly improves chatlog views, offering a more detailed client overview. Now:
- Client details like email, name, and phone are auto-updated from contact forms
- You can search conversations by user
- Automatic nickname assignment simplifies identification
All of these enhance user experience and streamline admin tasks.
🕷️ Scraping Improvements
We made major improvements to scraping:
- Proxy and slow-scraping areas upgraded
- Better chunking with more overlap and bigger chunks
This allows for deeper data analysis and capturing of nuanced relationships.
📈 Better Embeddings for New Bots
We added a new embeddings version for new bots. This results in:
- More effective training
- Better understanding of context and nuance
- More accurate and relevant responses
